Welcome and Introduction

Hello readers and friends!

Welcome to OrganicHomestead. I’ve been wanting to start a blog for a long time to share the adventures on my little farm. From prancing llamas to snoring goats. Peeping chicks than dash in and out of the flock snatching up bits of food and escaping with their prizes, geese that attack en masse with screaming honks and huge flapping wingspans (but they are actually softies — if they know you!). Families of furry bunnies that live in groups. Muscovies that waddle around, chattering silent speech in commentary of everything they see, and so many more. Animals are the heart of our farm, but the vegetable gardens, fruit trees, berry bushes, and so much more are just as important. Join us in our foray into developing feed mixes and providing wholesome food to ourselves and our livestock. We’ve made it through one of the worst droughts in history, accompanied by heavy insect pressure — read about how ducks solved some of our problems!

I’m going to go back over the past year and a half, where I’ve written various posts and uploaded photos online for my friends and gather all of the information into one forum — here on OrganicHomestead. I hope you will join us and enjoy reading about our sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking, but always educational and satisfying journey into the development of our Organic Homestead.

About Inspired Ink

Artist, crafter, writer, experimental chef extraordinaire ;) ... farmer, mom, teacher, gardener, natural health enthusiast. I love my life, am surrounded by animals that make me laugh and entertain me, from silently chattering muscovies to a dancing llama. My favorite hobby right now is finding old things at the flea market and turning them into something new and different. I love to surround myself with beautiful things (beauty is always in the eye of the beholder), better yet if they are made by my own hands. I love to dance, to sing, to smile and laugh. Life is good!
